Pets age faster than we do, which means they're more likely to develop health problems as time goes on. A wellness screen is a comprehensive medical check for your cat or dog that can help spot health issues early, giving you complete peace of mind.
The assessment can catch early signs of illness such as kidney disease, arthritis, or dental disease, conditions that often develop quietly over time. In fact, two out of three* pets have health issues their owners don’t know about.
By catching changes early, we can act quickly, and help your pet enjoy more happy, healthy moments with you. Our skilled nurses will look after your pet during the appointment, which takes about 30 minutes.
Our comprehensive wellness screening includes:
Wellness screening is recommended for healthy mature cats and dogs and includes a physical exam, a complete clinical history, urine testing, a blood pressure measurement (if advised) and blood testing for all common organ function-related diseases including kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and overactive thyroid (cats only).

What do I need to do before my wellness screening appointment? If you're not able to do these things, don’t worry — attend the appointment as planned and our team will advise you.
Make sure whoever brings your pet in knows about their habits and daily routine.
How do I receive the test results?
You’ll usually receive your results within 10 days. If all is well, you will receive a text or email from your practice team. If there are any abnormal results, the practice team will be in touch to arrange for a vet to discuss the next steps. This may include a recommendation for a change of diet, medication or further investigations.
What happens if something’s found? If your pet needs extra care, our team will guide you through the next steps with clear advice and support. When we catch a condition early, it means we can provide the right care quickly, giving your pet the best chance to recover and thrive. The cost of further care is not included in the cost of a wellness screen.
